Experience the art of hand papermaking in this engaging introductory workshop. Using the classic Western-style “dip” method, you’ll create beautiful paper while embedding, layering, and shaping this versatile medium. Discover both contemporary and traditional methods as you learn how fibers can be prepared at home. We’ll delve into hand manipulation and drying techniques that showcase the unique qualities of various fibers. You will go home with papers of various sizes and fiber.
A materials fee of $40 payable to Suzi includes various plant pulps, additives, insertions, and the use of essential tools (mould, deckle, felts, and pelons, aprons) necessary for forming and pressing paper, along with all materials needed for a fully immersive creative experience.
