With a production mindset, this short workshop will demonstrate the process of throwing off the hump, followed by trimming, pulling handles, and finishing, which includes some surface treatment. There will be an emphasis on design, tools and a logical as well as efficient pathway to finished-ness. Throwing off the hump is a technique using a 'large' amount of clay from which multiple forms are made without having to pause and center individual pieces of clay. The first day of the workshop will be predominantly demonstration, reserving the second day for student involvement.
