This course will explore building methods including slabs, coils, and pinching to achieve functional and sculptural forms. We will use hump and slump molds, as well as templates to aid in our designing and making process. We will also talk about how to scale up and down our projects, and how to create a method to the madness. Once our forms are built we will talk about how to create dynamic surfaces via painting with slips, using resist methods including wax, tape and paper resist, as well as explore sgraffitto and mishima inlay. You will leave with a greater knowledge of your materials and what they can do for you in your journey to finding your artistic voice.

One 25 lb. bag of clay is included ($50 value includes glazes and firings) as well as time to work in the studio outside of class.
