Intro to the Expressive Arts: “Arts with Heart” with Christopher Carbone
Thursday, February 5
6 - 7:30pm
Free, or suggested $10 donation
Join Christopher Carbone, longtime arts facilitator, educator, and trainer of practitioners, for an introduction to the transformative practice of the Expressive Arts. In this interactive presentation, Christopher will share examples and insights drawn from his decades of work in the field - exploring how contemplative, process-oriented creative practices can foster a greater sense of well-being, resilience, and connection for individuals and communities alike. Participants will learn how the inter-modal expressive arts weave together elements of imagery, movement, sound, and words, and invite us into a mindful relationship with ourselves and others. These arts-based approaches are accessible to all, requiring no previous experience, and can serve as powerful pathways for renewal, reflection, and discovery. The session will include an overview of the key benefits and principles of expressive arts work, along with a few sample “Arts with Heart” moments - brief experiential invitations that allow participants to feel the essence of these practices. Together, we’ll explore how these creative approaches can help open the heart, calm the mind, and deepen one’s sense of meaning in their personal and professional life.
