How can we incorporate the historical perspectives into our own work? In this class, we will use the 19th century art movement of Impressionism as inspiration for exploring theories and techniques specific to drawing. This course is meant for those seeking an introduction into drawing skill development, as well as for the established artist wanting to hone their craft. Our projects are designed to develop both your technical abilities and artistic growth. The course will be divided into three parts: dialogue about the impressionist movement and artists associated, demonstration of techniques, and then studio practice. Classes will take place in the SCAA Paint Studio, where the instructor and students work together fostering a collaborative environment conducive for tailored one-on-one instruction.
