When the days are short and winter feels long, it’s the perfect time to bring a little spring into your studio. In this five-week class, we’ll celebrate our favorite backyard birds by painting them in gouache—a versatile medium known for its rich colors and velvety finish.
Each week we’ll explore a different bird, from bright cardinals to cheerful chickadees, learning techniques for layering color, creating texture, and capturing personality. Along the way, you’ll discover tips for painting feathers, backgrounds, and lively details that make each bird come to life.
This class is designed for all levels—whether you’re brand new to gouache or already love working with it. By the end, you’ll have a collection of charming bird paintings to brighten up your winter days and remind you that spring is just around the corner.
All materials will be provided. Please bring cash or a check for $55 payable to Susan on the first day of class.
