Pastels are a great medium because they go fast and often people are able to finish a painting a class maximizing learning. Still life is a genre with endless possibilities and the best way to learn how to compose a paining. Using the techniques of the impressionist painters, I will teach a clear and practical method for starting your still lives that can be carried to conclusion in any way you wish. I will work hard to help you realize your vision in your work.
In this class you will learn what you need to know to start or continue painting still life in pastels. The class will cover learning the basis of a good composition, setting up your equipment, learning a clear and simple way to start a pastel and help selecting a finish technique for your pastel painting. We will also cover storage and framing.
The class will include demonstrations and individual critique. Students of all abilities and level of experience are welcome. I have a lot of Youtube videos that are free and don’t require a subscription.
