This is an easy, unintimidating class for anyone who considers themselves strictly a beginner! In this course we will be learning and practicing painting eight watercolor techniques and we will create an example of how each technique can be used in a painting. And if time allows, we will use these techniques for painting both styles considered illustrative and painterly. The instructor will give demonstrations as to how the process is achieved. We will also be studying great watercolors by Homer, Hopper, Sargent, Pendergast and many others. Expect to learn about art appreciation, color harmony, and art elements and principles of design.
There will be no pressure having to do things right in this class. Making mistakes is totally acceptable .Everyone learns at their own pace here and there is no judgment. By the end of the five weeks you will have learned various major watercolor techniques, made an attempt at painting pictures both illustrative and painterly and will have practiced various styles of brushwork to be proud of.
