Discover the art of abstract collage using vintage papers and ephemera in this comprehensive one-day workshop. Students will learn foundational techniques for creating abstract compositions while exploring the unique qualities of vintage materials. Drawing inspiration from abstract artists, participants will develop their artistic voice through hands-on exploration of color, texture, and composition.
By the end of this workshop, students will:
● Understand the principles of abstract composition using vintage materials
● Master techniques for deconstructing books and preparing vintage papers
● Create unified compositions using grid structures and organic arrangements
● Develop skills in balancing harmony and variety in abstract work
● Complete multiple finished collages using different compositional approaches
