Saturday, September 26, 10 - 11am - Introduction to Pit Firing 
Saturday, October 24, 10-12pm. - Apply terra sigilatta to bone dry work.
Saturday, October 31, 9:30-11:30am - Pit firing – wrap pieces, load kiln and fire.
Sunday, November 1, 10am-12pm - Open and unload.

Discover the magic of this ancient pottery technique. Pit firing is an atmospheric process. All of the colors and patterns are derived from the process and what is consumed by the fire. There will be the opportunity to experiment with materials such as salt, coffee grounds, nut shells, and copper wire, to name just a few possibilities.
Bring bone dry work to pit fire. Firings do not include clay or studio time to create bisqueware.
