This workshop is for anyone interested in learning how to use soft pastels or for those wanting to further their confidence with soft pastels. All levels are welcome.

We will start with an overview and explanation of the different tools used to produce a pastel painting. This will include various types of papers, soft pastels and accessories needed to set yourself up in a studio. A short demonstration using a simple subject will follow on how to start and develop a painting. After the demonstration you will paint on your own. We will end the day with a friendly critique of the group’s work.

Each student will receive individual attention and guidance throughout the day.
Soft Pastels are a beautiful, vibrant and fun medium you will enjoy adding to your creative toolbox!

A material fee of $8 paid to instructor will cover the cost of 2 sheets of Uart sanded paper.
